A MESSAGE FROM THE MCDC BOARD PRESIDENT

We can make this a reality thanks to your generosity and love for our community and region!

“With so many great things happening in our city and region, it’s an exciting time to be part of the greater Minot community! So many groups, corporations, individuals and governmental entities have already thrown their support behind the initiative and now our dedicated board is pulling together key donors who share our passion for this much-needed children’s museum.

As a 15-year resident of Minot and father of two children, I couldn’t be happier with the goals, direction and vision of the Magic City Discovery Center. I know that this regional center will improve our quality of life, attract and retain more families and businesses, improve the year-round education and entertainment options for children, and will truly become a shining light on North Hill. I want to thank you in advance for your current and on-going support toward the Magic City Discovery Center capital campaign. Together, we can make this a reality thanks to your generosity and love for our community and region!”

Mark Lyman Board President

IMAGINE A NEW HORIZON

The Magic City Discovery Center Board has an agreement with the Minot Parks District to build a 20,000 square foot museum on Park property on North Hill, just southwest of the Sertoma Softball Field and north of the Hampton Inn. This unique property on the crest of the hill will give the facility maximum exposure and visibility from North Broadway and a great view out into the valley. We feel this location and the partnership with the Park District is a wonderful arrangement that allows us to raise funds for and build the facility the way a modern children’s museum should be, and then the Park District will lease back the use of the property and ground it sits on for $1/year (just like the Scandinavian Heritage Park). A wonderful win-win arrangement that is a generous donation from the Park District and benefits our entire region!

HONORARY CO-CHAIRS' MESSAGE

As Honorary Co-Chairs of the Magic City Discovery Center Capital Campaign Committee, we are proud of the exciting direction of this new initiative and exclusive opportunity for Minot to be home of the state’s first discovery center/children’s museum. For communities like Minot to continue to thrive, they have to be a welcoming place for all families. Our community and region will benefit greatly from this family-friendly center that offers a nurturing, thought promoting and most importantly, fun outlet for our children. It is just the kind of development Minot and the region’s families have been waiting for. The Magic City Discovery Center will improve our quality of life, add unique educational opportunities, and be a forward-thinking facility. It is truly a community-focused enhancement that we should all put our financial support toward. We are behind this initiative 100% and we are asking you to be as well!

CO-CHAIRS' MESSAGE

As campaign co-chairs of the Magic City Discovery Center Capital Campaign Committee, we are honored to lead this worthy cause. The Discovery Center will offer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) learning with more than 7,000 square feet of high-quality, unique educational exhibits that reflect our region. It is exciting to be part of such a wonderful project in our community, especially something that will greatly benefit children and families in this region for many years to come. The Magic City Discovery Center is the best large-scale endeavor for children in decades. Please join us and all the other members of the Capital Campaign Committee in supporting this new magnificent year-round facility on North Hill.
