Minot, N.D. – The Children’s Museum of Minot Board of Directors is proud to announce that Minot Junior Golf Association has agreed to donate $100,000 to the Magic City Discovery Center (MCDC), toward the capital campaign to build a stand-alone, 20,000 square foot museum on Minot Park District land on north hill in Minot.“

We at Minot Junior Golf, are pleased to be a part of the Magic City Discovery Center project,” said Reed Argent, President of the Board of Directors of the Minot Junior Golf Association. “A year-round children’s museum will provide one more option for the families in our area, especially during the winter months. We look forward to partnering with the Magic City Discovery Center in creating joint programs and events utilizing the facilities of both organizations.”

Minot Junior Golf Association began in 1989 and operates the Jack Hoeven Wee Links junior golf course at 900 Forest Road SW in Minot. Wee Links hosts a variety of golf events, promotions, tournaments and programs throughout the season. Their primary mission is to promote and support junior golf activities and to support any activities that benefit children.

“We want to thank the Minot Junior Golf Association Board of Directors for this generous contribution to the Magic City Discovery Center,” said Mark Lyman, president of the Children’s Museum of Minot Board. “This wonderful donation will help us immensely in our goal of creating a location that engages all of us in the magic of life-long learning through discovery, creativity and play.”

A capital campaign is currently underway to raise the $7 million estimated to construct a 20,000 square-foot building, design and build 4-5 exhibit galleries of varying sizes, and set up funding for a museum endowment – along with other items.
