At the Magic City Discovery Center, our mission is to spark imagination and instill a lifelong love of learning through hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) experiences. While we love seeing smiling faces fill our galleries in Minot, did you know that we can also bring the magic directly to your school, community event, or neighborhood?
With our Discovery on the Go outreach program, the museum packs up the curiosity, creativity, and high-energy experiments and hits the road!
Bringing Hands-On STEAM to Your Space
Discovery on the Go is designed to be flexible, engaging, and customizable for groups of all sizes. We bring the supplies, the expertise, and the fun, just provide the space and the eager young minds!
Classroom Visits: Our education team has developed captivating lessons to enhance your student’s classroom learning. In a STEAM Classroom Visit, our Educators will plan and lead a fun, 50-minute, grade specific lesson!
STEAM Activity Fairs: STEAM Activity Fairs bring two hours of discovery, learning, and play! Our Educators will come to you with 10 interactive STEAM stations that appeal to learners of all ages. Your organization would supply a space and volunteers to guide participants through the stations and we’ll take care of the rest. STEAM Activity Fairs are great for family engagement nights, youth groups, team bonding sessions, community festivals, and much more!
OR try a MINI STEAM Activity Fair where one of our Educators will set you up and run an activity station with two fun STEAM activities.

Robotics & Coding: Program Dash Robots, drive Sphero Robots, and explore interactive tech with OSMO and Little Bits.
High-Flying Physics: Launch Stomp Rockets, test aerodynamic designs in our Wind Tunnel, and experiment with heat using Thermal Squares.
Building & Architecture: Construct massive structures using KEVA Planks, Magna-Tiles, Big Blue Blocks, K'Nex, and Legos.
Hands-On Chemistry & Earth Science: Mix up gooey Oobleck and Slime, search for fossils in a Rock Dig, or examine nature under portable Microscopes.
High-Tech & Traditional Art: Sculpt in 3D using 3D Doodle Pens, trace with Light Tablets, paint on our Portable Paint Wall, or draw digital masterpieces with the Pixel Painter.
Classic Crafts & Techniques: Try your hand at Printmaking, Scratch Art, Origami, Pastel Leaf Art, and Joan Mitchell-inspired Murals.
Community Canvas: Express big ideas on our portable Mini Paint Wall or design custom Binary Coding Bracelets to take home!
